Day 1

Goal:

  • Capable of navigating around Enable
  • Administrating Enable through the UI
  • Understand the Data Model Worksheet
  • Basic data model concepts

Hands-on:

  • Creation of data through the UI; ad-hoc imports and exports
  • Creation of saved sets
  • Creation of saved searches
  • Classifying records in a Hierarchy / Taxonomy
  • Linking data together
  • Managing Code Set values
  • Adding attributes
  • Managing the Enable 2020 UI layout
  • Create preferences

Concepts:

  • Enable UI features and functions
  • Link relationship concept
  • Data model concepts (profile, repository, attributes, code sets, taxonomy and hierarchy)

Day 2

Goal:

  • Build a simple data model consisting of profiles, repositories and link relationships
  • Build dynamic attributes
  • Create import & export templates (single repository and cross repository)
  • Understand promotion
  • Configure promotion

Hands-on:

  • Create a product, supplier and customer data model using the data model worksheet
  • Build imports and exports for onboarding data
  • Build out taxonomies and hierarchy mappings
  • Creating and populating code sets
  • Changing attribute control types and special functions
  • Building a sequence and configuring
  • Setting up production repositories and handling promotion

Day 3

Goal:

  • Can configure digital asset management
  • Understand simple validation and VTL based rules
  • Can setup multi-lingual attributes
  • Setup group based security restricting access to features, repositories and attributes
  • Enable Change Notification through configuration files
  • Setup Change Notification to keep track of changes to records by attribute, language and group

Hands-on:

  • Link digital assets to products repository and display them in the preference
  • Configure auto association based on file name
  • Build multiple validation rules using pre-conditions; re-use rules against different attributes
  • Setup VTL calculation rules
  • Define 2 groups with different levels of access (MDM Administrator and MDM User)
  • Create a Change Notification registry to track when Vendors update their information
  • Modify Change Notification to update attributes based on Vendor updates
  • Create a Change Notification registry to track when language specific data is changed and update attribute information

Day 4

Goal:

  • Understands scheduled imports, exports and promotions
  • Understands dependencies & parameters
  • Understands all widgets and can build a complex dashboard
  • Can build bulk callouts across repositories validating data
  • Can build pre-defined searches and filters
  • Understands Channel Readiness its capabilities and how to administer it
  • Understands the workflow tools and features

Hands-on:

  • Creates scheduled promotions for all repositories and schedules them to run every 5 minutes
  • Creates a scheduled export using the delta setup and creates a saved set
  • Creates a scheduled export that uses publishing parameters from a saved set and a saved search
  • Creates an import that imports the delta export as a dependency and passes the saved set as a parameter
  • Creates a dependent operation on the import to promote the records
  • Writes a bulk callout to find products that have no Skus
  • Create pre-defined searches for Vendors who are pending approval
  • Create filters for Customers by Region and type of business
  • Setup a product outbound channel
  • Builds a dashboard with 4 widgets

Day 5

Goal:

  • Further understanding of workflow tools
  • Understands the business process decomposition document
  • Capable of building a multi-step workflow that involves a parallel step and final approval

Hands-on:

  • Create a simple approval workflow
  • Associates workflow to Products repository
  • Extends approval work to include a parallel step
  • Updates an attribute on final approval
